A feeling of unrest…

I had a long conversation with a fellow youth pastor last night and realized that he and I are feeling the same way about things these days.

It is very hard to see the big picture God has for you and the people you are working with.

All we really can see is the “now”, but sometimes that is very discouraging. Even though we know we are doing what God wants not seeing results is difficult.

I see some amazing things, but I am the kinda guy that wants it all now and that makes things really tough.

Im in prayer and praying for my friend as well.

I am thankful that even when I suck God doesn’t

There is a season for everything… maybe God wants you to focus on now. If everyone is looking to the future, then no one is caretaking now.

God doesn’t always reveal the whole vision to us in one big moment. Sometimes it’s just a piece at a time. Sometimes it’s about working in the here and now. The whole “he who is faithful with small things” deal. Sometimes we just have to be faithful with the present before we get to glimpse the future.

Habukkuk 2:3 says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

    Hey Joel –

I can definitely relate to you. One thing that I remember to keep things in perspective is that we need to enjoy the process. Sure, we have dreams and vision, but we might not even see that vision in our lifetimes. Life in the “now” and do all you can to see God working right now.

My life verse is Luke 18:1

Jesus told his disciples a parable so that they should always pray and never give up.

Because I’m a quitter by default, I cling to this verse.

Praying for the small cloud in the sky to encourage you (1 Kings 19).
