Domain Dilemma: Psuedo poll

I’ve been skirting around this issue for a while and It’s official. I am moving this to another site. I am going self hosted with wordpress so I can do more with it.

It will still be my personal rant a community site, but I want to add to it design resources for the church and some other things.

I have narrowed it down to 2 domain names. Both have teir strengths and weaknesses.

starbreather.com – Louie giglio said something that hit me. We worship a star breathing God. I love that. It just shows how small we are. I havent used this for anything so some it may not associate with me.

klampert.com – its my last name, but most seem to be confused how to spell it.

So this is serious this time…not just blowing smoke. I’m moving with a way cooler blog. where should I go and why?

    Starbreather is more of a company name, and it needs explaining. Starbreather could be any type of hundreds of companies. I would go with a name-based URL for the type of site you are describing. Maybe even joelklampert.com, if it’s available. Good luck.

    One stupid question – did you check on the availability of both?

    As cool as starbreather is, I’d go with the name. It’s certainly not going to ever wear off…

    klampert is cool, and in terms of SEO would be my #1 choice. Star breather is a little too emo/metrosexual, and like mentioned before needs some explanation.

    I heard all the coolest guys had blogs that followed the following naming format:

    [first_name][last_name]dot[com]

    Klampert is a little less cumbersome than starbreather

    While I dig starbreather, it does sound a bit like someone writing and smokes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much weed and wears hemp clothes exclusively. Klampert.com is a winner.

    dude, klampert.com. I mean, starbreather did nothing for me until you explained it …I thought “cool”, but then you gotta have a whole section devoted to explaining it.

    Did God “breathe” stars, or “speak” stars. Is speaking and breathing the same? Blah, blah, blah.

    I think across the board for those of us who know you, already have relationship, we wanna see “klampert”.

    Plus, for a long time, I thought maybe your middie initial was “k”, as in Joel K. Lampert.

    Another vote for klampert.com. Best way to rank well for your name and it’s short.

    If you’re really into starbreather, why not pick that up for $8 a year and keep it in your back pocket in case you ever want to do anything with it down the road.

    I would recommend your name as the domain. Maybe even your full name.

    BTW, which hosting are you switching to? I am considering self hosting with wordpress as well, but not sure what’s the best way to do it.

    Definitely klampert. Starbreather sounds too much like dragonmount.com – a website dedicated to the fantasy series “The Wheel of Time” by the late Robert Jordan.
