HILLSONG UNITED COMES TO HOUSTON IN AUGUST

Aussie Worship Band’s Only Youth Conference in U.S. for 2008

SYDNEY, Australia – May 5, 2008 – Musicians, students, youth leaders and worship leaders will gather in Houston August 22-23, 2008 for the Hillsong United Conference which brings the world-class modern worship band for its only youth conference in the United States this year.

The Hillsong United Conference will be held at Grace Community Church at 14505 Gulf Freeway in Houston and will feature two days of speaker presentations, teaching and concerts.  The conference will focus on the subjects of worship and justice and equipping young people to bring both to their communities.

Registration for the conference can be found at http://www.hillsongunitedconference.com/houston.html. An early registration rate is available now through May 31st at a cost of $69.

Australia’s Hillsong United, which was the Gospel Music Association’s International Impact award-recipient in 2007, is one of the most popular young modern worship bands in the world.  The various conferences they have hosted around the world have drawn thousands of young people and their church leaders looking to immerse themselves in worship and gain a better understanding how to bring a lifestyle of worship to everyday life.  Last year’s U.S. event, held in Orlando, was sold out and attended by registrants from 43 states.

The Hillsong United Conference in Houston will feature guest speakers including Hillsong Church’s senior pastor Brian Houston and internationally renowned speaker (and former Hillsong youth leader) Phil Dooley teaching registrants how young people can transform their churches and communities.  The Hillsong United band will lead worship at the events.

The Hillsong United Conference is sponsored by Integrity Live Events, part of Integrity Music of Mobile, Ala.  The Hillsong team will also visit Canada for a conference in Toronto on Aug. 29-30.

In April, Hillsong United released The I Heart Revolution: With Hearts as One, a new double album that captures live worship from around the world.  The CD release is the first part of a three-part action plan for the band’s worship and social justice initiative, The I Heart Revolution, that also includes a June release of a DVD titled We’re All In This Together.  Both the CD, which captures the “sound” of global worship, and the DVD, which captures the “visual,” are aimed at creating awareness for phase three – – the development of an online community and social justice hub set to launch in July.

The With Hearts As One CD features 30 songs recorded live in various locations including Scotland, Malaysia, France, Paraguay, Sweden and Brazil to name a few.  The album was produced by Hillsong United frontman Joel Houston along with guitarist Jad Gillies and Andrew Crawford.
