Robert Weber Died

Robert Weber
died Thursday evening (April 26 2007) after a long, courageous and faithful struggle with pancreatic cancer.

There are tributes all over the net including a nice word from David fitch.

Robert Weber is a theologian who believed in the blending of ancient and modern worship. His website, Ancient Future Worship, is littered with tons of information and teachings. If you haven’t been there before go check it out.
I was working on a series of posts based on his teachings when I found out this information. I am saddened to hear this news and my prayers go out to his family.

In a day of innovation and experimentation within the post modern church Robert Weber really seemed to understand the truth and balance of blended worship and he shaped my beliefs and understanding of the fullness of worship.

We will miss you Robert Weber. Thank You.

Does it include a discussion of house churches?

hey welcome back…as far as house churches goes…weber wrote mostly on the bringing back of the ancient practices of the early church. Creeds, Readings, liturgy……and mixing with the modern church….modern worship and modern ideas.

This works well in any church and his writings really apply to any church.
