Archives For Youth Group

THE NINJA WARRIOR MOST EXTREME YOUTH CHALLENGE:

On saturday I took my youth group to a local karate dojo that I rented out. I had met with the instructor there prior and put together a bunch of games. 55 to be exact. We met at 2 and ended at 5 and played around 12 or so games.

IT WAS AWESOME. we had team challenges, strength challenges and full on combat. Let me tell you this was such a cool time and the kids loved every minute of it. Because we didn’t get to even half of the games we are going to be doing it again in a few months.

I knew it would be cool, but I didn’t think that cool. I love pugel stick fighting.

Our Youth group is called Grounded & Settled. This name is the covering of the youth ministry in the North East for our denomination. Grounded & Settled is having a missions trip in a few months.

I got to design a killer poster for it. Click it to go to my flickr page for a bigger image. Like it?

Here is what we are doing for Good Friday. I took the order of service from Jordan because it was fantastic. I added and took away a bunch of stuff.

Everything in Red are the songs being sung. The service layout with going to black is really a Tenebrae Service which is typically done on Maundy Thursday, but I really like this order and I think it is going to be fantastic. We will end it with writing our sins on paper, lighting them and putting them in a bowl on the altar

We are working on some projected visuals for each section along with working on the look with some large paintings in the vein of the Jesus Painter.

As many of you know I am the youth director for our senior high group at our church. It is called Grounded & Settled. We are going to be doing some awesome stuff and I will have a ton of it on here, but go check out the separate blog I made for the youth group. I think you will like it.

Right now we are studying Mark Batterson’s, in a pit with a lion.
