Archives For Phil Wickham

Well it’s been a long time coming, but Friday night I went and saw Shane and Shane with Phil Wickham. First up was Phil playing with noband. Just him and his taylor cutaway. This man was impeccable. His vocals were so spot on you might has well been listening to his CD. He has some great songs and really began a great night of worship. Next up Shane and Shane, playing A custom Breedlove. They had the full band. Guy on Dobro, steel guitar, pedal steel, Hammer Dulcimer, and banjo…yes on guy…then a drummer, bass player with electric and stand up, and lead guitarist with les paul and telecaster. What an amazing show…they played some new…some old and of course the hits like Yearn. Amazing sound and a true heart for worship these guys have. If you ever get a chance to see them you had better go.

Robert Weber Died

April 30, 2007 — 6 Comments

Robert Weber
died Thursday evening (April 26 2007) after a long, courageous and faithful struggle with pancreatic cancer.

There are tributes all over the net including a nice word from David fitch.

Robert Weber is a theologian who believed in the blending of ancient and modern worship. His website, Ancient Future Worship, is littered with tons of information and teachings. If you haven’t been there before go check it out.
I was working on a series of posts based on his teachings when I found out this information. I am saddened to hear this news and my prayers go out to his family.

In a day of innovation and experimentation within the post modern church Robert Weber really seemed to understand the truth and balance of blended worship and he shaped my beliefs and understanding of the fullness of worship.

We will miss you Robert Weber. Thank You.

Gloria:

Modern English Version* Use for the Roman Catholic Mass since the 1970’s. To some extent a paraphrase rather than a literal translation of the Latin.

Glory to God in the Highest
And peace to His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, Almighty God and Father;
We worship you, we give you thanks,
We praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Son of the Father.
Lord God, Lamb of God
You take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, receive our prayer.
For You alone are the Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High Jesus Christ,
With the Holy Spirit in the Glory of God the Father. Amen.
