Shuffle them i-tunes

November 13, 2008 — 2 Comments

Fred Mckinnon did another shuffle your i-tunes and post what comes up. I did it a few months ago and it’s always fun so here we go again. While your at it…shuffle yours and comment with what you’ve got in the list.

Here is mine:

Delusions of Grandeur – Flemming and John

Eyes Like Yours – Shakira

Typical Situation – Dave Matthews Band

Star Spangled Banner – Jimi Hendrix

The tale of Dusty Pistol – Smashing Pumpkins

Black the Sky – Kings X

The Sky is still the same – Emily Schiavi

Wilderness – Choir

Prodigal – Eden’s Bridge

Sinking – Jars of Clay

I ordered my new mac’s on Friday and they showed up on monday. WOW! That was awesome. I opened them and was ecstatic because I love technology, but for it to show up on my birthday was a special treat.

I had them set up in literally minutes and started dropping in all my software and misc stuff. That will be this weeks process for sure.

Everything booted up nice and worked with no issues. I bought all refurbs. Imac, macpro and ipod. It doesn’t even seem that anybody breathed on them much less used them. Pristine is a great word to describe the condition.

I was worried about my router being a lynksis. Not only did everything just hook up but both mac’s are running on wireless and they seem to have a way better strength connection than the Dell laptop.

Then there was the case of the two computers seeing eachother to network. 2-3 clicks to make that happen and no headaches. I swear PC should be sponsored by advil.

Everything is working fantastic and of course I am fumbling my way around.

Disappointment?: I don’t like that the Imac is not height adjustable. That is actually quite annoying
at this point thats my only grip.

I installed iwork and all the previous microsoft doc. work great with it. Ableton is installed as well. The mac did some software updates and even that was a breeze.

stay tuned for the next thing that I do with this thing

Thats right…I took the plunge. we are no longer a PC household as of..well whenever the things show up.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far and trust me I will blog my transition process.

I ordered all refurbs

Macpro 15 inch 2.4 ghz with 2 gig ram

iMac 24″ 2.8ghz 2 gig ram.

decided to get iwork cus macoffice is getting horrible reviews. Hopefully the transition works there with word and excel files.

I am stoked and ready to get started learning this stuff. I am not a moron (although some think different) so it shouldn’t be too difficult for the transition, but if it is thank God you all are here to make me feel warm and fuzzy.

To Apple I go!

PC TO MAC SWITCH

sure I sound like a noob, but I promise I do know how to spell my name. With the great response I had last time I am ready to order my macs, but I have a few more questions.

1. no antivirus needed right?

2. I have a lynksis router. Am I able to use macs with that?

3. If I am is there a way to network the two macs without having to buy airport routers?

4. I currently have a printer on the network. Will that still work?

5. Anything I’m missing?

6. Do i really need a desktop or should I just connect my 24″ dell monitor to my macpro when i want big?

Im looking at all refurbs cus they are way cheaper. Adobe is swapping my software for free. I wish corel would do the same. grr. going for 24 inch imac 2.8ghz and 15inch macpro 2.4ghz
