“What is this place? Why is this place? Who approved it? Am I supposed to take it seriously?” What could such an outlandish, fantastical world say about its Creator?
In these sparkling chapters, Wilson gives an aesthetic examination of the ways in which humanity has tried to make sense of this overwhelming carnival ride of a world. He takes a whimsical, thought-provoking look at everything from the “magic” of quantum physics, to nature’s absurdities, to the problem of evil, evolution and hell.
As the author says, “Welcome to His poem. His play. His novel. His comedy. Let the pages flick your thumbs.”
I got this book in the mail from Thomas Nelson and was very excited to read it. I do have to say that I had a hard time doing so though. The book was very well written, very poetic and had amazing visuals, but lacked something. Maybe it was that it had too much.
The book is almost a stream of conciseness. While the writing and visuals were beautiful, abstract, enticing and even funny I found it all over the place.
I think overall this is a great book, but i would also say it’s a perfect book for somebody with literary ADD.
While the author is obviously a Christian and it deals much with God even a non believer would enjoy with poetic artistic pictures he paints of the universe.
If you Like Donald Miller you will love this book as well. Many stories almost like a blog in a book.
