Sunday Setlist – june 14th 2009

It has been a while since i have done one of these, but I am starting to get a real vision for where worship in our church is headed.
I am by no means an amazing worship leader, but I am making sure that I continue to move where the Lord is leading.
A note about last week; I did the hymn “what wondrous love is this” arrangement by red letter from Mars Hill. Let me tell you this Hymn is SO great. I can’t wait to do it again.
This weeks set was fantastic. The last song hoever, “we want to see jesus lifed high” is now officially retired as of this week. i pulled it off the shelf and blew the dust off it this week, but it seems it still belongs in the file bin.

“What wondrous Love”- one of my favorites!! We just did it at a worship conference this past Saturday. Congratulations on the retirement of “We want to see Jesus lifted High”!

There’s a ton to like about this post, starting with this sentence: “I am by no means an amazing worship leader, but I am making sure that I continue to move where the Lord is leading.”
Also keenly interested in the arrangement of “What Wondrous Love is This”. That’s one of those with great lyrics but a not-very-singable melody.
You’ve got a distinct blend of music here — very cool.

Dude, I retired doing Sunday Setlists as it began stirring controversy since I’m no longer leading BUT THIS SUNDAY I bring it back since I’m leading! I’m stoked.
I wish I’d read this before I already picked my tunes though. I forgot how great Sweetly Broken is and how good Vicki’s stuff is! ARGH!

Oooo…I love that song, Sweetly Broken. oO(Why have we never done that?)
We’re trying one of those deeply-archived songs this Sunday, so we’ll see how that goes. File bin at the ready…
