Goodbye Stef…..

It is with great sadness I write this. My blog friend and AC180 comrad passed away on Sunday. You can read it here.

He fought cancer so hard and we were with him and his family every step of the way.

It is an odd thing having internet friends. I have reconciled with myself however that even though I have not met many of them they are closer to me than friends I know in person.

Stef was an amazing man of God. He fought hard for his life and prayed hard. He lived each day to it’s fullest and cherished his wife and and three kids dearly. He was and still is an inspiration to me. Even in my personal struggles he would, while dealing with cancer, send me messages of encouragement and to let me know he was praying for me. I know it was tough. real tough. But stef lived the word.

In everything…Give thanks.

And that spoke to my heart more than anything.

I am thankful with every fiber in me that stef is with the Lord right now.

His favorite verse was

Phil 1:6 “6 There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”

God fullfilled a great work in stef. Probablly more than he or his wife even knew. He reached many people and I know at minimum the guys at AC180 all recieved a piece of Christ from him.

I am thankful I knew stef, wish I could have met him, and filled with joy about seeing him in heaven.

Thank you stefan…..

A little wack, but much to come

Yes there has been a bit of a lapse of posting in the last week. I’m glad you noticed.

Not only is there madness going on there is much madness in my head.

So needless to say I have been slammed with christmas, church and youth church. Oh and then there is the family.

Crazy, but I want to let my faithful friends and readers and innocent bystanders know some things coming up.

1. I will be posting this week some my picks for the best CD’s, books, websites, movies, and resources for 2008

2.I have some gret CD reviews coming up within the next 2 weeks on here, The worship community and on another site as well.

3. I have some very interesting announcments to make about my church this week. trust me you want to hear this

4. I have some youth services to tell all of you about.

Ah…and then comes 2009 coming on the close of my 3rd year of this blog in June and heading to a 4th year of awesomeness.

Thanks all for staying with me…wonderful journey

A feeling of unrest…

I had a long conversation with a fellow youth pastor last night and realized that he and I are feeling the same way about things these days.

It is very hard to see the big picture God has for you and the people you are working with.

All we really can see is the “now”, but sometimes that is very discouraging. Even though we know we are doing what God wants not seeing results is difficult.

I see some amazing things, but I am the kinda guy that wants it all now and that makes things really tough.

Im in prayer and praying for my friend as well.

I am thankful that even when I suck God doesn’t

How to recover from playing in 2 different keys.

This may be the funniest worship thing I have seen in a while.

FAIL!
